Purpose

Thank you for your interest in the California Department of Developmental Services' (DDS) Employee Development, Growth, and Education (EDGE) online learning management system. EDGE helps learners take classes, complete assigned courses, and keep track of their trainings. As the system grows, EDGE will continue to serve as a central resource for regional centers, Department staff, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), and community members.

The EDGE Account Request Form is for any individual who is not currently serving as a Direct Support Professional (DSP).

A DSP is defined as someone who:

Provides direct support & supervision to children and/or adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Spends at least 50% of their hours doing direct support tasks.
Assists individuals with IDD with learning new skills, guidance, and personal assistance.
Helps with maintaining a person's health & safety and the upkeep of their home.
Employed by a service provider funded by a regional center.
